WAPDA won the bronze medal in the seventh National Women’s Football Championship after defeating Balochistan by 2-0 in the third place play-off match at Pakistan Sports Board Jinnah Stadium on Thursday. WAPDA started the match in fine style as they continued to press for an early goal. In the 13th minute of the first half their ace striker Mehwish provided them a much needed goal with her solo effort. WAPDA players kept on pilling the pressure and in the 34th minute of the first half Rafia Parveen doubled their lead. At the half time WAPDA were leading by two goals. In the second half WAPDA players tried to score more goals but could not break the Balochistan defence line.
