Six people, including two women were injured in an explosion in a hotel located in the city’s central business district, Blue Area on Thursday. The apparent gas cylinder blast that occurred around 10:50pm in the fifth floor of the Citi Hotel was heard in the surrounding areas, creating panic in the area.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Beni-Amin Khan said the blast was apparently caused by gas leakage and investigations were still underway. He said it was not a terrorist act.The IGP said six people were injured in the blast, but none of the injured was seriously injured.
