The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has banned three national players to represent Pakistan in the forthcoming national and international events owing to throw their encounters deliberately in the recently ended World Mens’ Team Squash Championship 2011 that was held at Paderborn, Germany in the last week of August. However, Pakistan squash team manager Irfan Asghar, who is also secretary PSF, succeeded to save his head, as he was merely warned. The 32nd executive committee meeting of the PSF decided to bar Aamir Atlas, Yasir Butt and Waqar Mehboob for two years, one year and six months respectively. The committee met on Thursday here at Mushaf Squash Complex to look into the disarray performance of the top national lads in the mega squash showpiece of the world in which Pakistan even succumbed by the lowly ranked Denmark in the group match of the World Men’s Team Squash Championship and failed to qualify for the second round. The team manger presented the report in the house and showed some vital videos clips. Players were also given occasion to defend them in the meeting, which chaired of PSF Senior Vice President Syed Razi Nawab. After a long meeting, the disciplinary committee came to the conclusion that the players underperformed and did not uphold the good name of Pakistan squash.
