A traffic jam was witnessed at around 6pm on Friday. The traffic on almost all major roads of the city came to a standstill, as heavy traffic was seen on the Mall, Jail Road and Canal Bank Road due to slow moving traffic. Traffic flowing onto Canal Bank Road was comparatively faster than the traffic movement on road so Jail Road and all the underpasses were clogged. China Chowk, Shadman, Shah Jamal, Sanda Road and various patches on Canal Bank Road, Jail Road, Sherpao Bridge, Jinnah Flyover, Defence Main Boulevard, Walton Road, Liberty, Zahoor Elahi Road, Garden Town Main Bolevard and other places witnessed slow moving traffic. The CTO Lahore told Pakistan Today that the reason for slow moving traffic was the ongoing construction work on Canal Bank Road.
