Raza to replace Butt as PCB chairman?

Widespread changes are expected in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) before the expiry of PCB chairman’s term on October 8.
As the D-day approaches reports of changes have put former National Bank president Ali Raza forward as the frontrunner to succeed the outgoing Chairman Ijaz Butt.
Although there has been no confirmation but reports attributed to the President House says that the resignation of Butt was accepted long ago and he is being given time to complete his term while the fresh notification is likely in a couple of days, maybe even before October 8.
An official of the Presidency said that final decision would only be taken when Butt’s term ended.
Another official stated that Ali Raza’s name was there for consideration but the final decision rested with the president.
The coming week is of great significance for Pakistan cricket because during that week not only the national team for the Sri Lanka series, but the new coach and the new chairman of the PCB would be announced.
Reports also suggested that PCB chairman would not be representing Pakistan at the International Cricket Council Executive Board meeting in October and even in the Asian Cricket Council Finance Committee meeting, PCB COO Subhan Ahmad will attend the meetings instead.
