They do have a heart! Cops donate a day’s salary to flood relief fund

Personnel of the Sindh Police would donate one day’s salary to the prime minister’s relief fund for the rehabilitation of the flood affected people of the province. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Wajid Ali Khan Durrani at the Central Police Office, said a statement issued on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Additional IGP Falak Khursheed, Headquarters Deputy IGP (DIGP) Sardar Abdul Majid, Establishment DIGP Shahid Hayat, Technical & Transport DIGP Abdul Aleem Jaffry and other senior police officers.
The participants of the meeting were informed that four trucks loaded with relief goods – including 2,000 packets of grocery items, medicines and candles – are being transported to provide help to the families of the flood affected police personnel. IGP Durrani directed the participants of the meeting to dispatch two trucks with relief goods to Badin district and one each to Mirpurkhas and Sanghar districts. He also directed the officials concerned to arrange relief goods for the families of the police personnel residing in other affected districts. He also reviewed the police housing schemes in addition to various ongoing welfare projects in all the districts and issued necessary directives in this regard.
