The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to approach some of the top coaches of the cricket world as the PCB’s tender for the coach did not receive any positive response. It has been learnt that the PCB will start its hunt for the top coaches after the September 29 meeting of the PCB-formed committee, which will decide who will be approached as a coach. The likely chances are that the committee will try to contact Peter Moores, Tom Moody, Mickey Arthur and Tim Nielsen. A PCB official said the security is one of the reason for the top profile coaches staying away. Another PCB official said that security would surely be a matter of discussion when a foreign coach was appointed.
“We have received applications from England and Australia and many from within the country but some of the names which have been expecting are not there,” he added. The PCB is hunting for a new coach after Pakistan’s former Test captain Waqar Younis stepped down following the recent tour to Zimbabwe on personal and health grounds. The board had not spoken to anyone and neither any top coach had approached the board directly but it was for sure everything would be finalised in the September 29 meeting and the committee would put the possible coaches list.
