Country faces no threat: PM

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said nation is untied and the country is facing no threat.
“We will not hesitate in rendering sacrifice of any kind for the security and defence of the country. Nation is united and country is facing no threat. All the parties will have to get united beyond their political affiliations for the sake of national security”, he said this while addressing lawyers in Peshawar High Court Bar here on Wednesday.
He went on to say the legal fraternity faced the rule of three dictators valiantly and courageously. The services extended by lawyers for the cause of supremacy of democracy are laudable, he added. The role played by lawyers, political workers and civil society in the restoration of constitution was very vital. “We joined hands with lawyers for the sake of revival of constitution and democracy. We were arrested. Under the directives of Benazir Bhutto we hoisted flag at the home of Chief Justice of Pakistan. We reinstated all judges”, he underlined.
Constitution of 1973 kept the country united after the fall of Dhaka, PM remarked. “We diverted the resources to provinces through NFC award which had generated more opportunities of employment in the provinces. We granted autonomy to provinces, If our reconciliation policy gains strength then a lot of problems of the country will be addressed, he said.
PM announced Rs 50 million for the infrastructure of Peshawar High Court Bar and establishment of Information Technology University.
