CM addresses UHS dengue workshop

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that new examples of public service and sacrifice were being set in the drive against dengue. He was addressing a workshop on the topic of Dengue Virus and its Management at University of Health Science on Tuesday.
Vice chancellors of universities, medical superintendents of hospitals, professors, doctors and experts were present. Secretary Health Jehanzeb Khan, UHS Vice Chancellor Professor Hussain Mubashar, Professor Faisal Masood and Sri Lankan medical expert Dr Kolitha Salwa also addressed the workshop. The chief minister said that all out measures were being taken for controlling dengue virus and provision of the best treatment facilities to the patients of dengue fever. He said that he was at a loss for words to express his gratitude to the Sri Lankan medical team. He said that it was a memorable moment when a member of Sri Lankan medical team Dr Frendo had said that Pakistani doctors had mastered that expertise in a few days which the Sri Lankans had learnt in about ten years.
The UHC VC said that wars and epidemics were a test for the political leadership and the CM had passed this test with flying colours. Professor Faisal Masood gave a comprehensive lecture regarding dengue virus. Later, a question and answer session was held in which Professor Masood and Sri Lankan medical experts replied to the questions of the participants.
