Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and Samanabad Town Emergency Response Committee for Dengue Chairman Marghoob Ahmed has directed the town administrator to issue notices to the owners of hotels and chicken shops, who are not removing garbage and stagnant water accumulated in front of their shops. He passed these directions while presiding over a meeting in Town Office on Tuesday. Marghoob said that no shopkeeper would be allowed to leave garbage outside his shop, which might create problems for the residents and the customers. He said that heaps of garbage and stagnant water were the main source of mosquito growth.
He said that if garbage and stagnant water was found in front of any shop, the shopkeeper would be held responsible and action would be taken against him. The chairman informed the meeting that 34 IRS cases had been completed in Samanabad Town, whereas 328 individual complaints regarding spray and cleanliness had been addressed. He said that fogging was being conducted in Union Council 108 and 103 in the morning and in Union Council 109 and 115 in the evening with the help of 20 fogging machines. He also watched a play which was especially written to create awareness about dengue among the masses. A large number of viewers watched the show.
