Landslide kills 8 in Buner mine

At least eight mine workers were killed and several others injured when heavy rocks fell on them at Bambokha area of Buner district late on Monday night. Police officials said the incident occurred some 14 kilometers away from the district headquarters near Jawar town. Miners were resting when heavy rocks fell on them. Six were killed on the spot, while two others succumbed to injuries in hospital. The killed included two owners, a driver and a clerk. Three vehicles were also destroyed in the accident. A number of injured admitted in District Headquarter Hospital Daggar. The funeral of those killed was held in different villages. Hundreds of people attended the funerals.
