Dera Bugti fort blast injures 10 FC personnel

At least ten security personnel were seriously injured when a powerful bomb blast occurred inside a fort manned by Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan in Dera Bugti, some 500 KM south east of Quetta on Monday, official sources said. Baloch Republican Army (BRA) claimed responsibility for the attack and said twenty security personnel were killed and a number of others injured. However, FC officials termed the blast an accident and claimed only ten personnel received minor injuries.
Details suggest a bomb planted inside the Frontier Corps fort in Dera Bugti (town) in district Dera Bugti went off with a huge sound, injuring at least ten security personnel. The blast was heard from far away.
FC officials requesting anonymity told Pakistan Today the blast was an accident since an Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) seized during a FC raid went off. He said 10 FC personnel had received minor injuries and none were serious. However, BRA spokesperson Sarbaz Baloch called different newspaper offices and claimed BRA activists succeeded in planting timed explosive device inside the FC fort. He claimed at least twenty FC personnel were killed and over fifty others injured, most seriously.
