63 cops killed, 110 injured this year, says Sindh IGP

Some 63 policemen of the Sindh Police Department lost their lives and 110 were wounded in the line of duty this year, said Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Wajid Ali Khan Durrani on Monday.
Talking to journalists after attending the funeral prayers of Assistant Sub-Inspector Sagheer Butt at the Garden Police Headquarters in Karachi, Durrani said Rs 2 million each would be provided to the families of the martyred policemen.
He also offered the bereaved families to nominate any of their family members for jobs in the police department, provided they are fit for it.
Butt’s funeral prayer was also attended by Sindh Traffic additional IG, Karachi Traffic deputy inspector general and other policemen.
