Since the leaders have failed, the entire Pakistani nation will stand with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against any misadventure by America, said PTI Chairman Imran Khan while addressing a huge demonstration at Liaqat Bagh in Gujranwala.
Khan said the incumbent leaders had pledged the nation to their masters, for whom they were also engaged in the ‘war on terror’ which was not Pakistan’s fight, adding that they did not care about the nation and were busy “minting dollars and polishing American boots”. He said the nation had nobody else to blame but these leaders who had pushed everyone into the war when no Pakistani was involved in the 9/11 incident and al Qaeda was not present in Pakistan.
He said all the suicide bombers knew was that their own leadership had supported the drone attacks their friends and families had become victims of, adding that 35,000 Pakistanis had lost their lives in this ‘alien war’, the economy had suffered and millions of people had been displaced while the incumbent leadership was out shopping in their foreign tours.
He said no cowards can rule Pakistanis and it was about time that the nation united against those who had only gone to the flood victims for photography sessions. “Asif Zardari’s hypocrisy is unbelievable. One day he is with the flood victims getting his photos taken and the next day he goes abroad to shop,” Khan said. Speaking about Karachi’s situation he said only PTI can bring peace to Karachi since it did not have an armed militant wing like PPP, MQM and ANP.
He said PTI would initiate indiscriminate action as soon it comes to power, adding that the key to the country’s survival was saying no to American aid. He said the so-called militants, too, would fight for Pakistan if the need arises since they had taken up arms to protect their community from the Americans in the first place.
Punjab General Secretary Yasmin Rashid, District Organizer Rana Naeem-ur-Rehman and other PTI party officials were also present at the occasion.
