A security forces’ convoy was attacked by militants in the Malik Din Khel area in Bara Tehsil, Khyber Agency on Sunday. Three vehicles of the security forces were destroyed, however no loss of life was reported. Security forces attacked in retaliation, killing two militants and apprehending several suspects.
The militants were believed to be loyal to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Tariq Afridi group that has been operating in the region since the banned Lashkar-e-Islam was driven out of the region by the security forces.
