Sheer negligence on the part of Capital Development Authority (CDA) is causing immense problems to the commuters on the Golra Road the condition of which is deteriorating day by day. Sharing their plights with Pakistan Today, people said the road required urgent repair but the authority had left it to the mercy of trucks and other heavy vehicles.
“CDA should repair the road as number of devotees used the Golra Road to reach on the shrine of Pir Meher Ali Shah,” said Hameed Abbasi a local. Other commuters said despite the allocation of huge funds for the maintenance of roads and streets, the Golra Road had become the most neglected one, although hundreds of people used it on daily basis.
“I use the road because I have been running a shop in G/13. The poor condition of road creates many problems for us,” Said Fahad Amjad, a resident of G/11. However, an official of CDA said the construction work on Kashmir Highway was underway while the authority was not in a position to take up more projects because of shortage of funds.
