An American citizen was killed as a U.S.-run installation came under attack in Afghan capital Kabul Sunday night, an Afghan private television channel reported Monday.
“Attack on American government building in Kabul left one American national dead,” the private television channel Shamshad aired in its news bulletin.
However, it did not furnish more details.
Neither Afghans nor U.S. officials have made comment.
Suspected gun shots and explosions heard in downtown Kabul area close to U.S. embassy, NATO-led forces headquarters and Afghan Defense Ministry Sunday night.
Meantime, a security source who declined to be identified said that a U.S.-run intelligence agency located in Ariana Hotel opposite to U.S. embassy building was the scene of gun shots Sunday night which left one person dead and injured two others. He avoided more comments, saying authorized officials would brief the media on the subject.
