Pak-US seek greater trade co-operation

Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Founder Chairman of Pak-USA Business Council Iftikhar Ali Malik, while calling for measures to further strengthen Pak-US business relations, has urged the US Administration to allow duty free access to Pakistani merchandise. Iftikhar Ali Malik was talking to new US Consul General in Lahore Nina Maria Fite. Former Caretaker Federal Commerce Minister Shahzada Alam Monnoo, President Shahzad Ali Malik, Vice President Sohail Azhar (LCCI), Chairman Skill Development Council (SDC) Rehmatullah Javed and former (LCCI) EC member Ibrahim Qureshi were also present on the occasion.
The Chairman Pak-US Business Council said that in the fast changing global scenario, both the United States and Pakistan should join hands and allow an easy access to their respective markets. Iftikhar Ali Malik said that being a frontline ally of the United States in its war against terrorism, Pakistan deserves more US cooperation in all business sectors. He said that the United States should also help Pakistan in overcoming an acute energy shortage being faced by it for the last many years.
