Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna has expressed happiness over US allegation on Pakistan that ISI has link with Haqqani Network, media reports said Sunday.
In an exclusive interview to the Asian News International at New York, Krishna said that India repeatedly accused Pakistani intelligence agency ISI’s of having links with Haqqani Network and now he feel happy that the US has also alleged that.
Asserting that the US was gradually realizing about India’s claims linking ISI with extremist violence were true, Krishna expressed satisfaction that the two countries were on the same page on the issue.
“Whatever we have been conveying to our interlocutors from United States, about our assessment of the ISI and the Haqqani network, well, now they realize that what we were telling is after all, the truth and it was factual. We are very happy that they have also come to same conclusion as we have,” Krishna said.
Krishna is likely to raise the issue during his meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday.
“Well I think my discussion with Hillary Clinton is going to be focused on our bilateral relationship and incidentally when we look at global situation perhaps this also might figure,” he added.
