Four robbers arrested, two pistols seized

The capital police on Saturday claimed to have arrested four alleged robbers who had been reportedly responsible for several armed robberies in various areas of the city. Police said they also seized two pistols, two daggers from their possession. A police spokesman said that Ramana Police Station had got a tip-off about the presence of a robbers’ gang in Sector G-10/1 of the capital.
He said a police team was formed immediacy under the supervision of Ramana Police Station SHO Inspector Ghulam Muhammad Baqir while ASI Muhammad Iqbal and others were also part of the team. He said the team raided their hideout and arrested four alleged robbers identified as Zulfiqar alias Zulfi, Muhammad Ali, Nawazish Ali and Zafar Ali alias Zafri. The police team also recovered two pistols, ten live rounds and two daggers from their possession.
It was also learnt that during the preliminary investigation, those suspects confessed to their involvement in several armed robberies. Consequently they were booked by the Shalimar Police Station. Separately Sub-Inspector Shafqat Mehmud of Sabzi Mandi Police also arrested a woman named Islama Bibi near Carriage Factory with hashish weighing over one kilogram.
