The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), during the last week, launched a special campaign against tinted glass vehicles keeping in view the present law and order situation and fined 891 vehicles.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood has told his subordinates to take stern action against those whose vehicles had the tinted glasses to eliminate the VIP culture, a police spokesman said on Friday. The SSP has told the traffic police to fine every violator and issue him and her ticket.
“The elimination of VIP culture and equal application of law and order are our main objective which would be achieved at every cost,” the SSP was quoted as saying. He also directed his staff to keep the awareness campaign continued in that regard.
The police spokesman said the SSP was told that around 8,797 people had been fined for using vehicles with tinted glasses last year while during the past week their number was 891.
