Dengue fever continued taking its toll as the number of cases reached an alarming level in Punjab on Saturday.
Reportedly, two patients Mudassir 20 and Shaukat 35 died of the virus at the General Hospital Lahore on Saturday taking the death toll to 99,a private TV channel reported on Saturday.
After the confirmation of dengue virus cases in Multan and other parts of southern Punjab by the health department, the authorities have launched special spray drives in these areas.
The increasing number of dengue infections has been reported at Multan, Layyah, Vehari, Fatehpur, Khanewal, Dera Ghazi Khan and other areas of southern belt. According to reports, 152 dengue patients have been brought to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.
