The Punjab Sports Board organised the Social Mobilisation of Dengue Virus conference on Thursday. Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman was the chaired conference supervised by Punjab Sports Directorate General and was attended by DO’s, DSO’s from all divisions of Punjab. The chairperson advised the attendants to take precautionary measures individually. The participants were asked to hold awareness campaign that include distribution of pamphlets, awareness walks, conducting conferences and seminars to alert not only the players but also the common man about the symptoms of dengue virus. “Precaution is better than cure no doubt that the Punjab Govt is taking solid steps to uproot the dengue disaster from whole of Punjab but it is the major responsibility of every sports person to give his maximum wakefulness to all their communities,” he said. He instructed that all the DO’s, DSO’s to immediately call meetings of the office bearer of the sports associations and brief the public as how to prevent the dengue fever as well as arrange immediate spray on play grounds, swimming pools and gymnasia.
