CAA focuses on passengers’ facilitation, security

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) convened the Airport Mangers’ Conference to enhance coordination between the field units and CAA headquarters. Special focus was given to passenger facilitation and security in addition to the ongoing development works and future planning. In his opening address, CAA Deputy DG Air Vice Marshal Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui welcomed the participants and briefed the audience on the CAA’s endeavours to improve the facilities for the passengers. He emphasised on the airport managers to follow the standards to provide quality service to its users. CAA DG Air Marshal (retd) Khalid Chaudhry advised the airport managers to put in their best efforts with honesty and dedication to earn the appreciation of the customers.
He also explained all the officers about his vision for the CAA and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. He praised the dynamic role of the CAA in advancing the cause of air travel in Pakistan, the dedication of the staff and the tremendous potential in the organisation to do well. The CAA DG especially emphasised the need for training in computer literacy and the use of information technology to move the CAA performance closer to industry leaders in this regard.
He stressed the need for vigilance and security under the prevalent law and order situation in the country. Earlier, Flight Lieutenant (retd) Syed Asif Saeed, the guest of honour, briefed the participants on the requirement for special passengers using airport services.
He gave very useful suggestions to the CAA management for improving and creating facilities for handicapped passengers travelling on wheel chairs. The audience and the management highly appreciated Saeed’s recommendations and thanked him for his valuable inputs, which everyone agreed would go a long way in creating customised facilities for the special passengers.
Before the end of the conference, a session was also held exclusively to review the arrangements and facilities for hujjaj travelling to Saudi Arabia this year. The CAA DG advised the airport managers concerned to leave no stone unturned to provide the best services to the travelling hujjaj as it is not only their official duty but also a religious obligation. At the end of the conference, the CAA DG thanked the participants and the invitees for their active participation.
