The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership on Wednesday snubbed party MNA Yasmin Rehman for her offer to resign from the membership of Public Accounts Committee (PPP) who was conveyed she was free to resign but the party would not back her in such a case. During standing committee proceedings, Yasmin Rehman said if the PAC chairman Ch Nisar stepped down all PPP members of the committee would also resign.
A source told Pakistan Today that the party leadership had taken notice of Rehman’s statement and snubbed her for making a statement against party discipline and without seeking guidelines from the party. “It has been conveyed to Rehman that if she wants to resign, she is welcome. But let her know she would be alone since neither PAC chairman Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan nor PPP members would follow her,” the source added.
