Waqar praises team

Pakistan’s outgoing coach Waqar Younis on Wednesday praised the team’s performance against Zimbabwe where they whitewashed the resurgent hosts. The team returned from Zimbabwe after completing the rout, winning the one-of test, three one-days and both the T20 matches. On return from Zimbabwe, the Pakistan coach expressed his satisfaction over the team’s performance. “The team made me satisfied by winning the series.
What else one would desire to sign off on his last series.” Waqar has already resigned as coach of the Pakistan team and Zimbabwe series was his last with the team. He stepped down citing medical grounds but there is also something behind the scene that also prompted the former great to quit particularly in the backdrop of a rift with Shahid Afridi. Waqar will be leaving for Australia for treatment shortly. His family is also in the same country. Waqar took over as head coach of the team March last year and despite a bundle of controversies including the spot-fixing allegations, the team showed promise.
Waqar was of the view that the tam gave its best in all departments of the game. “The results of the series speak for itself and there is nothing to elaborate. The boys played like a team and showed all the abilities to challenge the best of the teams,” said Waqar.
