In appreciation of his excellent musical production ‘Sachal Jazz’, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has invited Lahore-based entrepreneur and philanthropist, Izzat Majeed, to the Prime Minister House.
‘Sachal Jazz’ has shot to the top iTunes jazz charts in the US and UK. Majeed was behind the establishment of Sachal Studios in Lahore. The Prime Minister also asked Majeed to join hands to provide relief to Sindh’s flood victims.
The Prime Minister said Izzat Majeed’s musical creation made the people of Pakistan proud. He said showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage was the need of hour and Majeed has done a great job by seeking to revive traditional Eastern music.
The Prime Minister said the promotion of art, music and literature was important to fight off the attitudes of intolerance, bigotry and extremism in the society. He said Pakistan was blessed with a unique and diverse culture that had a fine mix of Eastern traditions and local values.
