Three people including a foreign pilot were killed after their small plane crashed in a mountainous area of the remote Indonesian province of Papua on Thursday, police said. The aircraft, which was transporting supplies to remote villages for a Christian humanitarian association, went down in Wamena district at 0613 GMT and nobody survived in the accident, provincial police chief Wachyono said.
“The association confirmed that the three were killed,” he told AFP, adding that the pilot was a foreigner whose nationality they were still trying to establish. A local official at the air transport ministry Jon Rettob said earlier that the plane has been located with a bad condition.
