Govt decides to raise petroleum prices Rs 4 per liter

The government decided to raise Rs 4 per liter on petroleum items by keeping in view increase in the prices of crude oil in international market on Thursday.
Reportedly, the prices of crude oil have been raised in average of 2.7% in the international market therefore the government has decided to raise the prices of petroleum items.
The government has made it clear that the price of Petrol Rs 3.60/liter, Kerosine oil Rs 2.10/liter, Light-Diesel Rs 1.83/liter and High Octane Rs 3.42/liter would be raised while the price of diesel would be reduced to Rs 1.27/liter.
It has also been learnt that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has given its proposal to the Finance Ministry to reduce levy on petroleum items in order to retain the present prices.
However, the ministry has denied reducing the amount of levy on petroleum items after which it has been decided to raise the prices of petroleum items.
