Death sentence for murderers upheld

A federal shariat court bench on Wednesday dismissed appeals of two convicts against their death sentence awarded on charges of sexual assault and the murder of a minor girl.
The convicts, Qaiser Mehmood and Shaban, had abducted a three-year-old resident of Muridkey and killed her after sexual assault in 2004. The trial court awarded them death penalties.
The shariat court rejected their appeals and upheld the sentence.
