Pakistani and ICC’s top umpire Aleem Dar returned home after wining the ICC award for the umpire of the year for the third consecutive year. A large crowd was present at the Allama Iqbal International Airport and accorded warm welcome to the umpire. Talking to media at the airport, Dar said that he felt proud to be Pakistani. He further said that it was not an award for him but for Pakistan.
He said that the central contract for umpires should also be introduced in the country. He said domestic cricket in Pakistan should be promoted so that new players and umpires would come
to light.
