Two sent to jail for not vaccinating their children

Two persons were sent to jail on charges of not administering polio vaccine to their children during anti-polio campaign here on Wednesday.
Talking to media persons here, DCO Peshawar Siraj Ahmad Khan said that he himself supervised the anti-polio drive on directions of the Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti.
He said that two persons refused to administer polio vaccine to their children. The police arrested them and sent them to jail after registering cases against them.
He said that one Afghan national was expelled to his country from Peshawar because he refused to administer polio.
He further said that strict action would be taken against those parents who would not implement order of the chief minister for administering polio vaccine to their children, adding that action would be also taken against those persons who spread negative propaganda against ‘anti polio drive’.
Chief Minister KPK Amir Haider Khan Hoti directed all DCOs of districts to ensure administering polio vaccine to children under the age of five years, the DCO said.
Anti-polio campaign is continuing in all districts of KPK including 14 districts which were declared danger zones.
