Shehzad Town police on Wednesday busted an inter-provincial gang involved in dacoities and street crimes and recovered weapons, a bike and snatched mobiles from their possession. Following the complaints of various dacoity incidents, Superintendent of Police (SP) Faisal Bashir Memon under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Khursheed Khan constituted a special team including Shehzad Town Police Station House Officer Yunus Gujjar to arrest culprits involved in these crime incidents, a police spokesman said. This special team succeeded in arresting four criminals red-handed when they were planning to strike in Pindorian area. Those arrested were identified as Hameed Ullah, Nadeem, Farrukh Iftikhar and Sajid Zaman .
They confessed their involvement in several dacoities in various areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and also snatching mobiles phones from people. The Police team recovered three pistols, a motorbike used for theft and five mobile phones from their possession. Meanwhile, Bhara Kau Police Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ishaq nabbed an accused Abdullah for having one Kalashnikov and ten rounds. Shalimar police apprehended a bootlegger Sadiq and recovered ten cans of beer from him. Sabzi Mandi police arrested an accused Muhammad Zahid for possession of a 30 bore pistol while Shehzad Town police also nabbed Tahir Mehmud for the same.
