ISI seeks one week in Saleem Shahzad case

Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) on Tuesday sought one week time from the judicial commission probing journalist Saleem Shahzad’s murder to submit a reply on the matter, according to an English daily.
The meeting was held under Justice Saqib Nisar of the Supreme Court, while Federal Shariat Court Chief Justice Agha Rafiq, Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police Binyamin, Punjab IG Javed Iqbal and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists President Pervez Shaukat were also present.
Saleem Shahzad’s widow and brother appeared before the commission and submitted their statements regarding the matter. The commission was informed that password of the Saleem’s laptop was still not found.
Journalists namely Jahangir Aslam, Amir Sohail, Azaz Syed, Farooq Nawaz, Abdul Salam Soomro and Faisal submitted their statements before the commission. Azaz Syed recommended the commission to summon the high ups of the ISI regarding the matter. The commission was suggested to visit all the provinces for meeting with journalists as they were facing different problems. The commission adjourned the meeting till Sep 27.
