Dubai Islamic Bank (DIBPL) have lifted the title of the Southend Club Cup after defeating Faysal Bank by 35 runs in the final of the Southend Club Cup. The event was held under the supervision of the former test player Sikandar Bakht (tournament organiser and coordinator) and Southend Club. In the final, after batting first, DIBPL made 166 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. DIBPL’s Usman Farhat scored unbeaten 105 runs while Amir Hussain scored 52 not out runs.
In reply, Faysal Bank were failed to achieve the target of 167 runs. They made 131 runs for nine wickets in allotted 20 overs. Ahmer Farooqui and Azizullah took three wickets each for DIBPL. Usman Farhat of DIBPL was declared the best player of the final. DIBPL CEO Junaid Ahmed was the chief guest of the closing ceremony. DIBPL head of HR and Admin Wamiq Rizvi, DIBPL head of Distribution Naveed Malik and Distribution Imran Fazli were also present on the occasion.
Usman Farhat received the awards of the best batsman and the best player of the tournament. Ahmer Farooqui was declared the best spell and the best bowler awards of the tournament while Mir M Azizullah, Faisal Waqar and Usman Farhat was declared the most economical bowler, best wicket keeper and most boundaries awards respectively.
