A Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholar from North Waziristan Agency Qudratullah has clinched a gold medal in MPhil (Veterinary Clinical Medicine and Surgery) from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Qudratullah was selected for postgraduate scholarship programme under the HEC project “Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for Students of Balochistan and FATA” in 2008, says a press release issued on Tuesday.
He successfully completed his MPhil studies and obtained 3.99/4.00 CGPA. He also received the Certificate of Honour by the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. “I am very thankful to the Higher Education Commission for supporting me. It is only because of the scholarship that I have completed my MPhil degree and obtained first position.”
“It is very difficult not only for me but for every student belonging to poor or middle class families to get higher education in a country where it has become too expensive,” says Qudratullah. He said these opportunities were an important step towards resolving the crisis of less privileged areas, especially the war-affected FATA areas, by educating their youth.
