It’s not that easy Sheikh Afzal

A low-ranked Camp Jail official foiled Bank of Punjab (BoP) loan scam accused and Haris Steel Mills Owner Sheikh Afzal’s attempt to escape from jail on Monday.
The accused was trying to flee by hiding himself in a mini Mazda truck, which brought ice to the jail. Afzal was trying to escape from jail with active aid of a senior jail official, who allegedly received Rs 40 million from the accused to facilitate him in this regard. The authorities concerned referred the matter to the Special Branch, which initiated an inquiry in this regard, sources told Pakistan Today.
According to details, Afzal was in Camp Jail on judicial remand. He hid himself in the lower portion of the truck to cross the main gate of the jail. When the accused was about to cross the main entrance, a low-ranked official, performing duty at the main gate, made noise to stop Afzal’s escape. The official was earlier part of the said conspiracy but at the eleventh hour, he changed his mind and decided to stop the accused from escaping, sources said. The Haris Steel Mills owner had moved a bail application in the Lahore High Court (LHC), which was rejected by a division bench.
