For divine forgiveness

The president had appealed to the nation to offer special prayers on the 14th September to seek Allah’s forgiveness for our sins and come forward to help their brothers and sisters who were ravaged by the floods.

Although, this was a belated appeal but nevertheless a much needed one. It’s apparent that to escape the divine wrath, the president must have also offered the prayer on this day and repented for all his sins which obviously must have consumed a lot of time.

He might also have prayed to the Almighty in a spirit of patriotism that he be given the moral strength to return to the motherland his entire ill-gotten wealth, wherever it is. This one measure alone, if sincerely acted upon, will not only solve the massive flood-related problems but also soon revivify the country’s sagging economy and bankrupt state enterprises.

No doubt, the timely and unprecedented act of the president will also severely jolt the rampant corruption which is the mother of all ills and the main reason for most of our threatening crises, other than the natural calamities.
