Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday advised former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to assist in relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people.
“His focus must be on well being of flood victims and not to instigate them that may simply add to their miseries,” she said in reply to questions raised by journalists at Karachi Press Club (KPC) here on Tuesday.
She said the challenges presently faced by country in the form of natural and climatic calamities demanded selflessness and not opportunism.
The minister addressing the media said nature had played havoc in 23 districts of Sindh and five other districts in Balochistan.
The situation required all countrymen to come together and work for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims, she said.
She said the government was also focusing on the prevention of health hazards associated with natural calamities and climatic changes.
Mrs. Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, you are asking help from Nawaz Sharif, while your party (PPP) is amassing money, playing dirty tricks with judges, and ignoring peoples basic needs.
