Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s fans could have been seen enthralled at the Serena Hotel where he performed at a live concert on Sunday night. Rahat started solemnly with hymn ‘Milta Hay Har Taraf Khuda’ sans any glaring glitches or behind the scenes blunders and concluded the three-hour concert with ‘Tery Mast Mast Do Nain’ that had featured in the Indian blockbuster movie ‘Dabangg’. Leading cellular company Zong had arranged the glitzy night called ‘Sada-e-Dil’ with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan while Pakistan Today also partnered the event.
Two vibrant young men—Abdul Rehman Tipu, and Adeel Ahmed from Miradore Productions and Brad Logic—were also behind the successful show. They made this Rahat’s third in the capital possible here with their unflinching efforts. Dressed in an off white kurta suit, Rahat walked to the stage and greeted the audience with clasped hands before he played the harmonium and mesmerised the packed crowd with his voice. His Punjabi song ‘Ajj Din Charhiya Teray Rang Warga’ followed by a ghazal called ‘Tumhein Dil Lagi Bhool Jani Pary Gi’, originally sung by his uncle late Ustaf Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, had the audience screaming for more. He also sang ‘Mein Tenu Samjhanwan Ki’ from a recent hit movie ‘Virsa’ and ‘Sajda’ from ‘My Name is Khan’.
