SHC CJ’s nephew abducted: Pressure tactics?

Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Mushir Alam’s nephew was abducted by unidentified culprits on Saturday.
Sources claimed that the incident might be a pressure tactic as several high-profile cases, including those of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi Chairman Afaq Ahmed, are currently being heard at the SHC and the Supreme Court (SC). Police said the CJ’s nephew, Faizan, was buying milk from a shop near his house in Hassan Square when three armed suspects kidnapped him in his car (AKM-476). First Information Report No 554/2011 has been registered.
Afaq Ahmed’s case is currently being heard at the SHC. The next hearing would be conducted on Monday.
A spokesman for the Haqiqi faction, Khalid Naqshbandi, said the cases on Afaq Ahmed have been proven baseless and there is a fair chance that the court would grant him bail in the hearing. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had taken suo motu action on the poor law and order situation in the financial hub of the country, and now the hearing of the suo motu action is in its final stage, which means a decision could be made in the next few days.
According to sources, Faizan’s kidnapping might be a pressure tactic because of the high-profile cases being heard at the SHC and the SC.
