Shahzad Town police on Sunday raided a gambling den at Tarlie and arrested nine gamblers with Rs 4,700 stake money, playing cards and several mobile phones. A spokesman for Islamabad police said Shahzad Town police raided a gambling den, being clandestinely operated by one Muhammad Munir, and arrested nine gamblers. The spokesman said that the police raiding party also seized playing cards, Rs 4,700 stake money and eight mobiles phones from Muhammad Munir, Abdul Waheed, Yasir Mahmood, Alamdar, Yasir Rasheed, Amir and Jafar. “An FIR under Section 5/7/78 of Gambling Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway,” the spokesman said.
DRUG TRAFFICKER NABBED: Golra police arrested a drug trafficker and recovered 125 grams of heroin from him. A police spokesman said that during routine patrolling, Sub Inspector Amir Umar stopped a person, frisked him and recovered 125 grams of heroin from him. The drug pusher who was identified as Aurangzab Khan confessed during preliminary investigations that he had purchased heroin from one Tufail. Later, the police also arrested Tufail.
