NBP earmarks Rs 141m for affectees

The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has opened collection account No 696969 for the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund 2011 and contributed Rs 25 million to that account.
The bank has earmarked Rs 50 million for establishment of medical camps in almost all the affected areas, where volunteers from the NBP and the People’s Doctors Forum are serving day and night. The NBP has also contributed Rs 66.5 million for tents to provide temporary shelter to those who have lost their houses due to the devastating floods.
To treat as many patients as possible, arrangements have also been made for availability of medical services at the camps in remote areas. The NBP has also distributed eatables in the shape of ration bags containing food items sufficient for a family of six for a week. The bank has earmarked a total of Rs 141.5 million for the relief of the affectees.
