Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Firdous Aashiq Awan said on Sunday that focal offices would be setup in 21 flood affected districts. Addressing an event at the Nawabshah Press Club, Awan said this process would begin from district Shaheed Benazirabad from where all relevant information would be sent to the prime minister (PM) and provincial ministers. The federal minister said further that the Nawabshah Press Club would be developed as a role model and announced a grant of Rs 5 million for the project. She said that a project to train young journalists from Pakistan in China would also be initiated, adding that its first batch would comprise two members of the Nawabshah Press Club. Referring to the first ever appointment of the Press Council of Pakistan chairman, the federal minister said democracy and journalism were interlinked.
