ECP directs parliamentarians to submit details of assets

The Election Commission (EC) has asked the members of the parliament and provincial assemblies to submit the statements of assets and liabilities of their own, their spouse and dependents to the ECP by September 30. This is a mandatory requirement under Section 42A of the Representation of People Act, 1976 and Section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975, a press release issued on Saturday said.
“Members of the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are, therefore, required to submit to the Election Commission Secretariat yearly Statements of Assets and Liabilities of their own, their spouse and dependents by September 30,” it said.
