Dengue outbreak claims 3 more lives in Lahore

Dengue epidemic continued to wreak havoc in Lahore where three more people have died of the virus, taking death toll to 39, officials said on Sunday.
According to media reports, 19-year-old Usman of Baghbanpura was under treatment at Mayo Hospital. His platelets count dropped sharply, resulting in his death on Sunday. Similarly, a woman died after her platelets count decreased due to dengue virus. The third patient, Bashir, 50, also died at Mayo Hospital.
On Saturday, six people died to dengue fever in Lahore.
Over 400 new cases of dengue have been reported in Lahore in the last 36 hours, taking the total number of patients to 5,715 in the city.
Furthermore, as many as 280 dengue cases have been reported from Faisalabad.
