Karachi: The Chairman EOBI Mr. Zafar Iqbal Gondal has announced that all officers of EOBI will donate their 7 days salary and staff will donate one day salary for rain and flood affected people in the ”Prime Minister relief Fund” The Federal Minister for Human Recourse development Ch. Wajahat hussain and Minister for state Sheikh Waqas Akram on behalf of the Ministry will present a cheque of Rs50 million to Prime Minister for rains and flood affected people. press release

Mobilink launches blood donation drive
LAHORE: Mobilink has organised the first employee driven private sector blood donation drive in Lahore in response to the ongoing dengue epidemic that has hit Pakistan. The blood donation drive was organised under the patronage of the Mobilink Foundation, in collaboration with Sundas Foundation. Employee volunteerism is a core value of Mobilink’s culture and employees are strongly encouraged to develop a humanitarian spirit. Parkinson’s Society and AKUH host support group
Lahore: The Pakistan Parkinson’s Society (PPS) and the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) joined hands to host a monthly Parkinson’s Support Group with the objective of promoting wellness and a better quality of life to People with Parkinson’s Disease and their Care Givers. The first Support Group met recently at the Aga Khan Hospital Sports and Rehabilitation Centre. Speakers included, Dr Mughis Sherani, a leading Neurologist at the AKUH and Mr. Haroon Basheer, Chairman- PPS. Mr. Haroon Basheer, on behalf of the PPS, pledged to pay for the cost of the first ten patients, on a need basis, who signed up for the Rehab Program. He said that the aim of the Pakistan Parkinson’s Society was to not only raise awareness of the disease, but also to assist patients in any way that they could. press release
Sindh Bank’s contribution to flood affectees
Karachi: As part of its corporate social responsibility, Sindh Bank Limited has dispatched another consignment of 3700 tents and 1000 packets containing food items worth Rs18 million for distribution among the people of interior of Sindh to help alleviate their sufferings caused due to the recent devastating floods. The Bank had earlier sent 2000 tents and 1000 packets of food items worth Rs10 million for the rain affected people of Sindh. The Bank has so far provided relief goods worth Rs28 million for the rain afflicted people of Sindh. As a step forward, all the officers of the bank have announced that they will contribute their two days salaries to the Prime Minister’s Fund established to provide relief to the rain affectees of Sindh. Sindh Bank has requested the philanthropists and other patriotic Pakistanis to come forward and donate generously in the Prime Minister’s Fund – 2011 established for providing relief to the rain-hit people of Sindh. The donations may be deposited in any branch of Sindh Bank which has made arrangements to facilitate the donors for this purpose. An Account No. ( Br. Nbp earmarks Rs141.5m for flood affectees
Karachi: In the recent floods of 2011, National Bank of Pakistan has opened a collection account number 696969 for Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund-2011 and contributed Rs25 million in that account. The account is opened in all domestic and international branches of NBP. The Bank has earmarked Rs.50.0 Million for establishment of medical camps in almost all affected areas where volunteers from NBP and People’s Doctors Forum are rendering their services day and night for the benefit of the ailing people. Every medical camp is treating around 1400-1700 affected persons on daily basis. NBP has also distributed eatables in the shape of ration bags, containing food items sufficient for family of 6 persons for a week. So far 10,000 bags containing ten essential items: Flour, Rice, Pulses, Sugar, Milk Powder, Cooking Oil, Tea, Water Purification Tablets, Soap and Short cakes have been distributed. Food distribution is on-going and carried out in a planned manner to benefit as many flood affectees as possible. NBP has also contributed Rs66.5 million for tents, to provide temporary shelter to those who have lost their homes during the current devastating floods. The Bank has earmarked Rs.141.5 Million for the relief of affected people. press release
