The provincial governments of all the four provinces, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan signed a joint declaration reaffirming their commitment towards education at a national education conference here on Friday.
The joint declaration was signed by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Barrister Syed Masood Kausar (as representative of FATA), KP Chief Minister (CM) Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Balochistan CM Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani, Punjab Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, of AJK PM Ch Abdul Majid and Gilgit Baltistan Education Minister Dr Ali Madad Sher.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister said the joint declaration demonstrated commitment of signatories to develop action plans for implementation of the education policy. “The declaration also reiterates the commitment of the federation to meet international commitments including Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
