Dengue epidemic, section-144 enforced in Lahore

Section-144 has been enforced Saturday in Lahore to control the dengue outbreak which killed over 30 in the city.
The decision was taken in an emergency committee meeting chaired by Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif here to find out ways how to control the eruption of dengue virus that affected more than 4,000 across the province.
The committee also decided Rs. 90 would be charged for dengue test at all public and private hospitals in the city.
The committee also banned washing of vehicles on roads and streets while strict action would be taken against those who put water at open places of the city.
Action will be taken against those who spill water outside their homes, shops or at any open place, the DCO said, adding that to comply with the law people must have to cover the water tanks of their houses.
Meanwhile, one more person has lost his life due to dengue fever on Saturday, reached toll to 29 in Lahore alone and 35 across the province.

  1. all these measures should have been taken long ago. not after the deaths of so many people. we pakistanis are so selfish and so uncivilized we only `bother when it comes to our own home,otherwise everybody acts so indifferent.our society has to learn to" love your neighbour as you love yourself".
