Five people died in five different incidents on Friday. In the first incident, Riaz, 35, a tailor, was shot dead by a security guard over a minor issue in the Johar Town Police precincts.
The victim had a shop in the Johar Town Market near Shah Di Khoi. According to police, security guard Arif quarreled with Riaz over a minor issue and exchanged harsh words. Arif was infuriated and allegedly shot the victim. Riaz was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. After being informed, police reached the spot and arrested Arif. Police have registered a case against the accused under Section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code on complaint of the victim’s brother Altaf. The accused told police that he had accidentally shot Riaz, as he could not control the trigger of his riffle.
In another incident, a 45-year-old man was found dead at Ali Park in Tibbi City Police precincts. Local residents found the body and informed police, which removed the body to city morgue and said that the deceased was a drug addict and died of an overdose. Separately, a 55-year-old man was found unconscious near Sheesh Mahal Road in the Lower Mall Police precincts. Local residents rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police made announcements in the area to locate the deceased’d heirs but in vain. Afterwards, police removed the body to the city morgue for autopsy. Two people died in two different road accidents because of torrential rain. In the first incident, a 35-year-old man was hit by a speeding car in the Shahdara Police precincts. Ishaq Ali, a resident of Imamia Colony, was going towards the Ravi Toll Plaza when a speeding car hit him. He was seriously injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police handed over the body to the victim’s family.
In another incident, a father of four children died when his motorcycle slipped in the Manawan Police precincts. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Abbas, a resident of Manwan Village. He worked as a labourer in a factory and was going to his factory when his motorcycle slipped and collided with a tree at the bank of the GT Road. He was seriously injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
